Brother 4234D Overlocker Review

After months of working out which overlocker to buy I chose the Brother 4234D. This is quite an advanced domestic overlocker as it does a four, three and two thread stitch. Most domestic overlockers just do a three and four thread, including the Brother 3034D which is the model below mine.

The only negative I have about the whole machine is that it was really difficult to set up and get all the threads in the right place as there were so many steps and it all became a bit to confusing, but that is the only negative I could come up with. There are so many positives with this machine including the fact that it is really easy to use with really amazing results and the pedal is really responsive wich is ideal and makes the quality a lot better.

As I have only just got it I haven't made anything with it yet, but now I have finally figured out how to get it up and running I know that I will be doing a lot with it that I will be able to share with you.

When choosing which model to go with I had to think about what I was going to be making with it, cost was also another big factor. Overlockers aren't cheap and once I decided that I was going to buy one I had to think long and hard about how much I could actually afford to pay for one. When deciding between the 3034D and 4234D I made a list with all of their similarities and differences and then made a pros and cons list for them both as well as aking for advice from people that I know. There were two main differences one being that the 4234D could do a two thread as well as a three and four thread instead of just a three and four thread like the 3034D, the other being the £120 difference in cost between them. After a lot of thought about which would be better in the long run, I went with the 4234D.

Overall I am so pleased with my purchase and I look forward to all of the things that I am going to be able to make with it.

Hope you enjoyed this review and found it helpful.

I haven't posted anything recently as I have just started my second year of college, as well as this I have just had a room in my house renovated into a sewing studio (blog post to follow soon) so I have been moving everything and coming up with the right set up. But the blog posts should be a lot more regular now as I am finally all moved in.

Lots of Love
