Family Summer Holiday 2016
On the 23rd of July My parents, Brother and I all got up at 2am to depart on our summer holiday to the Calabrian Coast in South Italy. We had a plane to catch at 6.10am from Stanstead airport where we flew into Naples airport. Once we arrived in Naples we went to collect our hire car.

Once we had collected the car we drove to Pompeii. My brother and I had both been before with school but my parents hadn't so we had two hours exploring there. We also had lunch just outside where I had a lovely Pasta Pomodoro. At the end of the trip to Pompeii we were walking to our car when we passed a place selling the best fresh orange juice I have ever had! We then drove to the villa near Cittadella Del Capo, that we were renting for the next two weeks. When we arrived at the villa it was about 7.30pm as we had done a food shop on the way, when we arrived we had to decide who had which room. My room was amazing it had huge double doors which opened up onto the balcony which had a beautiful sea view.

The next two weeks consisted of exploring the area, We visited a small town called Belvedere a few times as it was a really old town with loads of different paths all over the place, with lots of old buildings and cute little shops and amazing sea views.

We enjoyed a lot of food on our holiday, my favourite dish was in the town of Paola where I had fresh fusilli pomodoro, it was absolutely amazing and for dessert I had a giant piece of watermelon which was the perfect ending to a lovely lunch. Before our lunch we visited the Santuario di San Francesco di Paola (Sanctuary of San Francesco of Paola), which is an active monastery, with Monks and Nuns, it was so picturesque and peaceful and extremely worth a visit.
We also visited Diamante, which is another town on the coast, which has a lot of murals on the walls of buildings and a lovely walk along the sea with brilliant views.

The Calabrian coast is absolutely lovely, the sea is so clear and calm with lots of little fish, perfect for snorkelling, along with the amazing food and ice cream.
Hope you enjoyed hearing about my holiday and I hope that my review is helpful.
Lots of love
